Where Do Traveling Radiology Techs Work?

Traveling Radiology Technologists can work in a variety of settings. In fact, traveling techs are currently in high demand, and have opportunities throughout the U.S.

Many traveling Rad Techs work in hospital environments. They may be employed as Cat Scan Techs, Cath Lab Techs, Mammography Techs, MRI Technicians or in a wide selection of other radiology units.  A travel assignment in a hospital setting generally provides for higher pay rates than in other healthcare settings. Hospital-based assignments can also make for an action-packed day and are a stellar add to any resume.

Radiology Travel Techs may also find employment in Outpatient Imaging Clinics, which focus on less-emergent medical imaging. These positions are more likely to be day shifts and serve a more limited type of condition or patient. Similarly, Urgent Care centers provide imaging services in preventative or less-urgent diagnostic situations.

Healthcare providers are increasingly experiencing staff shortages in these important specialties and are looking to hire contingent staff. If you are interested in a career reboot, increased income potential, or the opportunity to step outside your comfort zone and expand your skills, consider a traveling allied health position.
