A university teaching hospital with over 700 beds, this facility provides a full range of healthcare throughout Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic region. It provides training for approximately half of Maryland's health care professionals. Home to a Level I trauma center, this medical center was named one of the nation's best acute-care hospitals in patient safety and quality of care. It has one of the nation's largest kidney transplant programs and is a referral center for trauma, cancer care, neurocare, cardiac care and heart surgery, women's and children's health and organ transplants.

CL Tech Job Responsibilities
In some facilities, the cath lab tech assists the medical team during open-heart surgery, and with the insertion of pacemakers or stents. The CCL Tech will monitoring the patient in these situations.
An associate Degree of Applied Science / Science degree is generally required. Hiring facilities have varying requirements for experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
Most healthcare employers prefer cardiovascular technologists who have earned credentialing Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). There are four requirements for taking the credentialing test:
- Enrollment in a cardiovascular education program.
- Employment in the field.
- A degree from an accredited institution in this field.
- Two years of volunteer work in this field and two years of full-time technical work.
In order to travel, you must be eligible to work in the U.S. and have an least one year of experience in an acute care setting.
